Wherever poverty is
Everyone, everywhere,
deserves a way out.
Goodward Foundation works alongside people living through homelessness and extreme poverty — on the corner near you, and in villages you will never visit. A hot meal tonight. A bed this week. A route back to standing on their own from there.

What we believe
Poverty is not a place. It is a person.
It is easier to talk about regions and statistics than about the man who sleeps behind the supermarket, or the girl who walks four hours for water before school. But charities that lose sight of the person end up serving the statistic.
So we work in both directions at once. We fund wells and school fees in places where a small amount of money changes a whole childhood. And we walk the same streets every week at home, because the person in the doorway is not a different category of human being.
We do not ask people to prove they deserve help before we give it. The queue that demands paperwork is the queue people stop joining.
Everywhere
Poverty has no single address.
There is no country on this map without someone going hungry in it tonight. We are not a charity for one region — we go where the need is, and the need is not tidy about borders.
Our work
Four things, done properly, for as long as it takes.
We would rather do a small number of things until they hold than a long list of things that quietly lapse after a year.

Shelter & street outreach
Sleeping bags, night vans, and a warm bed tonight — then a caseworker tomorrow.
How it works
Food & nutrition
Hot meals daily, and grocery parcels that let a family cook for themselves.
How it works
Clean water & sanitation
Wells, pumps, and repairs — because a broken pump is the same as no pump.
How it works
Education for children
Fees, uniforms, books, and a meal at school — the whole cost, not part of it.
How it works
Where the money goes
You are entitled to know exactly what your money did.
Every donation is tracked to a programme, and every programme reports on what it spent and what changed. If a project fails, we publish that too — a charity that only reports its wins is not reporting.
- Choose the programme your gift funds, or leave it to us to send it where the need is sharpest that month.
- Annual accounts and programme reports published in full, not summarised into a pie chart.
- Monthly donors get a short, plain-English note on what their giving paid for.

Give
A small amount, every month, beats a large amount once.
Regular giving is what lets us promise someone we will be back next week. It is the least dramatic kind of donation and by far the most useful.
